Blood donation mela planned on October 1

VISAKHAPATNAM: Several programmes are planned including a donation mela to mark World Blood Donation Day on October 1, according to Additional District Medical and Health Officer (HIV and AIDS) P. Rajendra Prasad.

Rallies will be conducted at several places by the APSACS in coordination with National Service Scheme volunteers.

A rally will start from Bullayya College and culminate at Dr. V.S. Krishna Government College where a donation mela will be conducted.

The following day, the Stamps and Registration Department will conduct a blood donation camp at Yelamanchili. Manual Welfare Association will organise a camp at Gnanapuram in the city on October 4 and at Kommadi by Gayathri Engineering College on October 6.

At the initiative of mandal parishad president D. Gopalakrishna Murthy, a mega camp will be conducted at the mandal headquarters on October 7.
